We share a God given burden to go and equip Mexican believers with the necessary tools and training to successfully carry the Gospel to unreached parts of México and the world. We truly believe the field of México is "ready unto harvest!" Please pray for the Mexican people and for us as we share the Gospel, counsel, disciple, train and mobilize Mexicans in the Gospel ministry, all for the Glory of God! That is our mission!
Reflecting back on our time on furlough in the U.S., we can see God's hand on us and His guidance in our decisions very clearly! Joe has been blessed to begin collaborating with other fellow ABWE missionaries within the Central America, Caribbean & Mexico region. As missionaries we agreed that a common problem throughout Latin American churches is the lack of involvement in the Great Commission, specifically in church planting. We understand that a lot of that comes from not being equipped or knowing how to plant churches! What a need! Developing training courses, seminars, and resources to help churches in this situation continues to be done. There's just one problem. Where do you go to do such training? It's great to recognize a need, but if churches don't recognize they have this need, what good are all these resources and training? We're reminded however, that God always provides!
Just a few short months ago, one of our missionary friends in this endeavor, Cam Woolford, received a call from a pastor of a church in Cuenca, Ecuador. Pastor Diego of La Iglesia Bautista La Fe (Faith Baptist Church), explained that his church needs to begin planting new churches throughout Cuenca. He shared that they know that with some equipping and some help they could plant a new church in the next 2-3 years. He shared that the church's leaders need equipping to be able to carry out this task!
After a lot of prayer and consideration with ABWE administration, we have accepted the exciting opportunity to go to Cuenca, Ecuador along with the Woolford family to help La Iglesia Bautista La Fe. We will be partnering with the church there in training to equip the leaders to not only be able to lead an effort in planting a church, but to also be able to train others to do so. We believe that it is vital for churches to change their culture into a leadership development center, and then mobilize their newly trained leaders in church planting efforts and Great Commission ministry! Imagine how many churches could become started because of a church like that! Imagine how many lives could be transformed by the gospel because of this ministry! Please pray for us and for the church in Ecuador, that God would accomplish all of His desires there, and that His kingdom would be advanced!
Only God knows what is next, but we know that we will be far more equipped ourselves from this ministry opportunity! We look forward to bringing this same training back to Mexico with us after our ministry in Ecuador is complete! Thank you so much for praying!
